Fringe Awards 2017

 

Drum roll please…..

Winners of the top award for Best in fringe are Hummingbird, a female music duo from Tisbury who performed ‘Afternoon Harmonies’, a mix of “toe-tapping melodies and beautiful harmonies” from folk, jazz and country genres, at Turnbulls cafe.

Hummingbird, who are Liz Coyle-Camp and Charlie Greenwood, also won Best popular music award for the same set.

Best youth award went to Shaftesbury School musicians and singers who performed ‘Summer Concert’ at St Peter’s church.

Other awards went to:

Best comedy Comedian Richard Todd for his show ‘Monsters’ at The Grosvenor Arms hotel.

Best spoken word David Evans of Imule Theatre for his performance in ‘The Old Man and The Sea’ at Shaftesbury cattle market.

Best variety Magician Paul Preager for his close-up magic act ‘Dazzling Deceptions’ at The Grosvenor hotel, and

Best theatre Frome Drama Club for its original ‘The Regina Monologues’ at Shaftesbury cattle market.
